Celestial's Stars group custom - Winter Sunset

If you are not a member of Celestial Cosmetics' fan group, then you're missing out on things like this gorgeous polish. It looks pink to me, but it's officially red with blue shimmer. If you're interested, you should join the group here.

I also used the September LE for the nail art. Hurry if you want either of these, they will be gone forever at the end of this month! They have also started stocking their own nail vinyls - I used the medium chevrons for this manicure.

The glitter is Maybelline Street Artist - White Splatter.

I was having a pretty good run with not buying too many things, but the last two weeks have seen me order a bunch of Celestial Polish, splurged on Kester Black, hauled some Ulta3 spring colours and my first FOA polish. And just earlier tonight... I went and ordered the whole Halloween collection from Lyz Cosmetics. It will be a new indie brand to me and I am already looking forward to it!

A Kester Black Dragonfruit in a Power Perfect Storm Rainbow

It's been a while! I'm going to make more of an effort here, starting with my blindingly gorgeous manicure. Simple, yet effective. I'm so grateful for today's beautiful sunny Sunday. Perfect for my polish!

Kester Black Dragonfruit and Powder Perfect Storm Rainbow
Both these polishes have been recent lemmings. Kester Black from when I saw it in a boutique store named Lulu near work. This is Dragonfruit, one of two that I really want. I'll treat myself to the other one at some later point, I'm sure. The second is Powder Perfect Storm Rainbow. The gorgeous sparkling goodness kept showing up in my Instagram feed and causing me to drool everytime. When both were in hot little hands, I couldn't decide which to use first! Luckily, the complement one another and worked nicely for this simple hot pink with glitter accent mani.

Look at that sparkle!

I hope you enjoyed my photo spam today! I've got a tonne of things I have been putting off that I need to do today. I promised myself. Ekkk!

Picture Polish Festival

Something I found floating around in my old photos. Not much to say about these, they're alright, works nicely on dark polish, obviously... sadly, I've not been feeling dark colours so this hasn't seen any action since these were taken...

In other news, I've completed the bulk of my PLT and should be starting the final component of the course online today, but I am still awaiting confirmation. I was at the college Friday morning with my forms and I have been told verbally that I should be allowed to start. I might have to give them a call later. Fingers crossed, I can start tonight and be one step closer to admission!

Formula X Unmistakable(ly) Incandescent tape mani featuring Thunder

I haven't done many posts properly recently. It's just been too hard to time my manicures to catch good sunlight and I just haven't got the set up to take photos nicely at home... and my computer with Lightroom installed has a pile of papers on top that I don't want to deal with. Actually, that's becoming a bit of a problem, procrastination. I'm trying hard to remain positive and upbeat, but lately, the shadow of... I don't want to say depression, because I think that belittles people who are really suffering. But a shadow of blues. I just feel flat. Even the nail art has been patchy.

I also keep breaking corners off my nails when I have squares, so I tried to do some ovals nails. Not sure how about I feel about them though... Anyway, onto my nails. Formula X White Matter, Unmistakable (mint) and Incandescent (orange).

I later added Formula X Thunder for some more details on my mani. I do love how well this goes with so many of my polishes!

Wear Test - Sally Hansen Miracle Gel - B Girl and Top Coat Duo

So I have been eagerly waiting for the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes to be released here since I saw the first look preview on BeautyGeeks. Not so much for me, but for my Mum and sister, who both chip their polish almost instantly after painting! I was walking around the city after gym this afternoon decided to browse the big Priceline store on Bourke St. I found Sally Hansen on sale, including the long awaited Miracle Gel at half price! They are all currently $9.97!

I have to say, this Karen is my favourite swatcher. And she swatched 46/47 of the colours Sally Hansen has released. And she very helpfully tried the top coat over regular polish, and oh my, I can't wait to give that a go too!

I must try to paint earlier in the day, I am not quite convinced they fully cured when I did them on a late afternoon, on a cloudy, winter Saturday.

I ummm'd and ahhh'd between B Girl and Street Flair (which I'd describe as a dusty lilac). I went with B Girl, obviously, but I had to go back for more!

I went back, with my sister this time, the next day. It turns out that the Bourke St mall store was the only one with the new Miracle Gel in duo packs on the shelf. Apparently they were not supposed to come out till after the sale. Needless to say, my sister and I went nuts. We got more gel duos, a gel starter kit and some other regular polishes too.

Guinea Pig Update + Photos

The fur babies are well. Sadly, Panda passed away. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned that. That was quite a few months ago now. We all miss the cheeky little bugger. But we're still delighted by the antics of the four we still have with us.

We have also received news that two of the little girls we adopted out have become mummies themselves! They grow up so fast. Here are some recent photos I've taken.

OPI Live.Love.Carnival and Copacabana Sugar Spun Nails

I thought I posted these a while back, but I couldn't find a post about them. I guess I haven't posted them yet... Anyway, I liked these! These were fun! I kept running my fingers over the cool texture. Although it was hard to have the "sugar" bit dry nicely. Despite my efforts with sprays and stuff, some denting did happening overnight. I made a huge mess that I struggled to clean up. Tape. Must not be lazy and use tape around the edges!

Still, this is giving me ideas for the mani I am about to go off and do! I have a full day ahead of me, for someone who is unemployed. I've already made my first trip to the city and back this morning.

As the title suggest, I used two polishes from the OPI Brazil collection, Copacabana and Live.Love.Carnival.
